    Hey Kim,
I can’t think of a better way to honor Kay than this…
She will love it – and I say “will” because I know she is here with every breath we take and in every move we make – reading every word written and possibly passing on a few of her own.
    The artwork is Fabulous!
So totally you – So totally Kay.
    What a gift

    Dear Kim,
I must confess that indeed, I am not a good visitor on others’ blogs: I look around a lot, but usually I sneak only, suck the content for some inspiration and leave without any visible trace. But after you had inspired me so many times and I have been following you in laugh and pain and cry and anger, I promise to give you some more proofs of my existence on your inspiring funny and beautiful site. Sending you my love from across the ocean.

You’ve not avoided one single shard of emotion and everytime I read your writings, my heart is closer to cracking open. Even after all this time and all this work, I want to go screaming down the street and grab people with your writing in my hand and scream, “See, see, this is what I mean, this is what happens, this is why we need to care! ”

I think of you and yours every day and I am so deeply proud of each of you.

How long did it normally take you to create a blog here? And how expensive is it to pay for hosting per month? It would be amazing to have a blog of my own on the internet. Too bad I’ve never really operated one before, so here I am asking you. It would really give me a head start, if you could either email me or respond here? Thanks.

So very, very sorry for your loss.

Kim, your gutsiness helps me to continue being gutsy in my own counter-cultural blog.

For example, the fact that you name your sister’s murderer.
Few people boldly hold others accountable in public like that.
They’re too worried about possible blowback and pushback.

    Not you. Or me.
Writing fearlessly about the things that really matter.
    Let’s keep going.

Just now clicked on your ABOUT page and glad I did. What a beautiful tribute to your sister. I lost mine too, in 2009, and not a day goes by that I doing think of her and still mourn. Gone way too soon from this world. My blog was also created in memory of her and my father. They wanted me to write, and now here I am….writing. <3

Hi, Kim. Just clicked over from your comment at my blog. I love the black cat pic on your sidebar – and what a name! Obama – so funny for a cat. He looks just like my three.
More importantly, I am so sorry to know about your sister’s death. I may have read here before – I feel like the story is familiar. Please know that you will be in my thoughts and prayers as you continue your healing journey. I wish you peace.

Your blog is such a wonderful tribute to your beautiful sister. I couldn’t help but laugh when I read the number of times you’ve watched those movies. I love all of those movies, but I’ve probably seen them ten or more times. I just recently watched The Mirror Has Two Faces…I’ve lost count on how many times I’ve seen that. And The Family Stone…probably twenty or more. 🙂

What a magnificent way to honour your beautiful sister. i am so sorry for your loss and in such a way and find the way you express yourself very moving. I am glad to see some words from Maya Angelou’s stirring poem ‘And Still I rise’ here. You are clearly someone who can rise. I used to use that poem with my teenagers in my English classes.
Thank you for your comment on my Sticky Tangerine Cake on Uru’s blog which is how I came to find you 🙂

Loved visiting your blog/site and laughed reading your ‘About’ page, except when I reached the last past. Your sister was murdered, how heart wrenching it must have been. It’s a loving tribute you give her via your blog

I don’t get here enough. I feel bad about that. I shared this on Facebook because even though it’s a month old it’s always a good time to share this message. Keep up the fight.

I was shot in the head 8 years ago. We were going through a divorce. I work at Goodwill in Duluth and I volunteer 2 days a week. I live on my own. My brother is guardian of me. I have a tramitic brain injury. I AM HAPPY TO BE ALIVE!!!
