Trump Wins Presidential Election

After The Election / Photo by Ronda L.

After The Election / Photo by Ronda L.

—–Confession: The election results made me physically and emotionally ill.

I finally had to go to bed, but at 6:00 AM, I ran to the television and saw this:

Trump Wins Presidential Election

in bold, block, bazooka letters.

I walked directly into the bedroom ( calmly) and told Mr. Liverpool, “He won. OMGgggg.”

“Who, Trump?” ( duh, who did you think I was talking about? )

“Yeah, he f*cking won.”

I thought about calling in sick, but didn’t. At school, the adults were somber, but the students’ were loud and uncensored and chatting about what occurred the night before, Mr. Trump, Hillary Clinton, big walls, and war. ( Elementary Students, mind you! )

There were warm hugs, and I believe ( even the Trump supporters ) felt sorry for us.

During lunch, my amazing friend, Ronda, said, “Hey, I have something to make you feel better.”

“Really? Give it to me, baby.”

“Okay, I took this photo on my way home from work last night when I passed the hospital.”

She looked thru her phone and handed me a photo of a man on a bicycle. ( not just any man on a bicycle )

She went on to explain: “I was stopped at a red light and this guy on a bicycle was on the sidewalk next to me. As I drove off, I noticed a bunch of security guards running after him.

I laughed so hard, my dill pickle stuck inside my throat. I may have peed my pants.  ( I did. Don’t judge. )

And the thing is, we still can’t figure out if this guy was happy as hell Trump got in to the White House, or just plain crazy.

—-A Note: It is time for unification, love, consideration, and standing up for one another. This is NOT about Republicans and Democrats; It’s about HUMANITY. Our lives. Our future. I ask that you listen to one another— no matter where you stand, no matter what you believe, no matter who you are. Listen. Love. Love. Love. This is our only hope for survival in an uncivilized world. I. Love. You. xxxxXXX    PS. Give a Democrat & Republican a HUG today! We are all ONE people.

It is even more important to pray for those in authority even if you hate who was elected. I felt the same way 8 years ago and 4 years ago but the Bible commands us to pray (1 Tim. 2:2). That actually keeps one from feeling uglies because you can’t pray for someone and hate them at the same time. Why that commandment? Two reasons: “…that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty” and that all will go well with us and our families. If more Christians would do this there would be more “unification, love, consideration, and standing up for one another” – what you said. It’s called “walking in love”; something I’ve seen little of during this election. Good post. I don’t put my trust in the government. I put my trust in God. He always takes care of me no matter who’s in office!!

I want him to prove us all wrong!!!

Loads of appreciation for all your feelings and your humour. But especially thanks for the good positive stuff we have to hang on to! Much love to you Kim.

I felt exactly the same way as the results came in…physically and emotionally sick. For days.

    Still do.

We can only hope he proves us wrong. But sadly, realistically that is highly unlikely. I HATE the fact that someone role modeling hate, sexism, racism etc.,has been rewarded (with the highest office.)

We are in good company as most of the world is looking on…shocked, amd disbelieving as we are.

Sick to my core. Puke. Yuck.

I was physically ill too. I didn’t watch the returns on Tuesday night. Woke, as you did, to turn on the TV, saw the banner, turned it off and went to the gym where I tried to run away on the treadmill. It didn’t work. Now I choose to make the best out of every day and avoid seeing him on TV. That’s not a long term solution either. But I’m working on accepting the truth. It’s hard.

Love your final note, my friend! So very true, too. We need to put the raw emotions behind us and get on with the business of healing. We’re taught to pray for our leaders, regardless whether we like them or approve of their methods, and leave the outcome to God. Happy Turkey-day to you and yours! xx

Oh you made me giggle with that photo. Well, you’ve said it my lovely friend. While my Australian family members joked about us coming back home, I said, we will stay. We don’t have to like who is in the White House, but we have to live together in cities and towns, schools and communities, reminding ourselves and those around us that carrying a message of love is far more powerful than those who inflict pain because they cannot see past color, dress, or religion. xx

A great message, Kim, for us all to try and heal the divides. Same kind of stuff going on in the UK at the moment, with everyone looking after themselves and sod everyone else. I listened to an old lady on TV the other day (a survivor of the holocaust) – such wisdom; we should not forget what depravities human beings are capable of.

On a brighter note, I love that photo – really made me chuckle. Those hospital gowns were designed to instil shame & humiliation in the wearer (even when that person is not riding a bike!)
