23 Things I Hate About You

Pet Peeves do not make good pets —Bo Bennet

  1. I hate that tiny bit of saliva resting on the side of your lip like a piece of costume jewelry.

  1. I hate when you begin every sentence with I and Me and My.

  1. I hate when you murder giraffes and lions and elephants to place the heads on your walls like trophies when,  in reality, they are your sins.

  1. I hate when you make a self righteous comment like this when you have NO “Fuckingidea who I am & what I’ve experienced.

*** If I may make a suggestion. As a former victim (9 years) of domestic violence, I truly understand your anger, but I believe you would gain better understanding and more response if you left out the foul language from your post.***

  1. I hate when you overuse the words, “Tolerance & Spirituality” until there is no longer meaning or substance.

  1. I hate when you stand too close.  If you want to kiss me,  just do it.

  1.  I hate your dull selfies with your idiotic fish lips.

  1. I hate when you ( who are you? )  delay the next season of Downton Abbey for 6 months.

  1. I hate when you don’t acknowledge me when I walk into a room.

10.   I hate that I’m not one of your writers for Orange is the New Black.

11 . I hate when you say the name of God in vain.

12  .I hate when you send a generic form notifying me that my essay doesn’t fit your needs at this time.

13.   I hate when you make me check a box at the doctor’s office:  45-55 years old.  Damn you.

14.  I hate your commercials with thin, big boobed, blonde, naked, Barbie winged women who look nothing like me.

15.   I hate when you say you’re kidding when you’re not.

16.    I hate when you don’t utilize your blinker.  How do I know which way you’re going to turn,  dumb ass?

17.    I hate when you say Popo when you should be saying Police.

18.   I hate when you say Vajaja when you should be saying Vagina.

19.  I hate you stomping on the American Flag.  I’d suggest if you have a problem with this country,  find a solution, or move to Afghanistan or Syria.

20.  I hate when you declare you’re a Christian,  yet you despise your neighbor.

21.  I hate when I’ve told you my story when, in truth, you didn’t deserve to hear it.

22.   I hate when you blame your horrendous, ugly behavior on your mama,  the media, and society when you should be looking in the mirror at yourself.

23.    I hate when you mark your jeans with stupid sizes when the tags should affirm:   Fabulous.    Curvy.    Sexy.    You are a REAL woman!

–Reader,  what are some of your pet peeves?   xx

Truly an *Amen* list! I sometimes hate that I have to “walk in love” because God is the Avenger and Revenger when I’d just love to help Him out, just a wee bit, just this one time, please?? But alas, no. And yes, His ways are better and my stomach isn’t full of acid from hatred, so OK. He wins.

There isn’t much I hate anymore except maybe ugly prejudice, intolerance, and stupid people who use the fact of their 9 years domestic abuse as an excuse to chastise you. That ticks me off – anyone who uses something ugly in their life to make their point. Kinda means they don’t really have one if they can’t make the point without bringing that up. Like her domestic abuse makes her point valid. My thought is, if they don’t like the profanity, stop reading the blog – and for sure don’t look at how many people comment how much you’ve helped them!

You hate sentences that start with Me and I? Ever had a conversation and it’s ALL about I and me? That quickly loses my interest. That’s when go into ADD mode.

OH, what a delight. I don’t know what it is about pet peeve, ranting posts but I truly love them, especially yours, Kim!

I hate when you take the last piece of cake, pie, popcorn, cookie….without asking anyone else if they would like some.
I hate when you get angry when I disagree with you
I hate that you used me then threw me away.
I hate short pants with strings hanging off the bottom
I hate your sarcastic, digging remarks that you hide as a joke.

Great list, Kim! I might add Stupidity, in any form; Ignorance, when there’s no excuse; Lack of Concern and Caring. I hate when people go all self-righteous, when they say they know exactly how you’re feeling (when, of course, they don’t), when they say they’ll do something and then don’t, when they promise to love you forever and bail at the first opportunity. I better stop while I’m ahead!! Hugs to you from getting-ready-to-be-stormy Central Illinois!

I hate when you find anything you can to bitch and moan and complain about, whether that is reading blog posts (troll) or using social media to start your own fires in the name of projected rage from the need to be heard- ignorance and arrogance are a lethal and ugly combination. I hate both separately and together.

Gulp. I’m wondering who that was directed to. Pet peeves. Hmmm Yesss. Now come on Peter. Gotta be a load of them somewhere. AH yes. How about cyclists who ride along on the pavement too fast and alarm people. I’ve always found that to be a bit rude. Of course, you can chuck in pomposity and self=importance because I really hate those two, but possibly they don’t count here.

What I can tell you is, even when you rant you make me smile, and that is pretty remarkable in itself. Especially after Man U have lost three games on the trot!

When they say whatever ——— They are not interested what you have to say.
It is what it is————- It isn’t what it is most of the time.

I hate bad manners , Rude, or impolite people. Etc.

    Good ones! I’d add:
I hate it when you set your submissions forms to only accept those with secret key words, like my name is JK Rowling, in order to pretend you are accepting new clients when in fact you are not.
I hate it when those rejection forms come in three seconds after I’ve hit send, knowing you couldn’t have read the email query, much less the attachment you requested.
I hate it when you then excuse your behavior by announcing how busy you are, as if I had to pull myself from the hammock on the beach where I’ve been resting for weeks and weeks with nothing to do but research how busy you are.
Okay, thanks for letting me get that out of my system! Deep cleansing breaths….

    I love your posts.
I love your #20 because I hate this too.
Also, I hate it when people refuse or discourage help, then complain about all they have to do and how no one helps them.
I hate it when friends, FRIENDS, ask is my book out yet and we’ve just talked about it last week and I’ve told them it’s a long process and wouldn’t I say something if it was indeed out?
I hate it when schools/people think they’re inclusive because kids with special needs are in PE, Art and lunch with kids in Gen Ed.
I hate it when people think it’s cute, funny, or amazing when people age 50 and above act young and stupid or young and sexy–act young. To be ageist isn’t even self-serving, since we all get old if we live long enough. Duh.
There are a lot of things I love though including people who are Christian and know they’re not personally Jesus/who make an attempt to walk the talk; when friends understand or want to learn about creative processes especially if they have their own; people who are curious about others and who go off script to find out about people who are different from themselves; people who don’t put unnecessary limits on themselves or others. Writers who muscle through the pain and shit, like you, Kim!

    What I do hate?
    Parking lots
When you forget that we’ve met (multiple times)
When you don’t get my sense of humor. (I’m fucking funny, dammit!)
When your company outsources it’s customer service department. (Those people NEVER get my humor!)

    This was cathartic to read…

I’m not sure I hate anything. Sure, I get annoyed by certain behaviors, but hating just takes too much energy (which I happen to not have to spare these days).

    So, things that annoy me:
    – Lying
    – Being willfully ignorant on a subject and then spouting off about it on all platforms – social media, in person, etc.
    – Entitled behavior – No, you don’t get to be on your phone at work just because you feel like it. Stare at the wall if you have nothing to do, but this is the company’s time, not yours!
    – Not being considerate enough to proof read your email, document, etc. If I have to read it, it better be written without misspelled words or terrible grammar. Please.
    – “Driving” while texting, reading posts, checking Facebook, etc. You’re putting so many people in danger with your inconsiderate behavior.

So, I suppose, just generally jerky behavior is what gets to me. We all have to share this space, let’s try to be decent and kind to one another.
