In Memory of Kay

A Letter To Her Murderer

“I know you’re tired but come, this is the way.” ― Rumi

In my previous post, I mentioned a blog I stalk called  The Sisterwives. If you know me at all, you know I worship raw writing,  true writing, writing that goes there.

All.     The.   Way.   There.

The Sisterwives  go there.

The writers take on themes, which are uncomfortable,  painful, and in some circles, taboo; content about depression, suicide, sexual abuse,  domestic violence,  incest,  & body image.

Don’t get me wrong, this is not a place about being diminished.   It’s a place about picking up your broken pieces and rising up from the ashes.

“This is a place to raise awareness, offer support and provide resources.

This is a place to seek out silver linings.

Darkness into light.

Adversity into strength.

Friendship into sisterhood.

Alone we are enough; together we are STRONGER.”

—–We are The Sisterwives—-

Anyhow,  I’ve traveled to this kick ass place today to share my essay about Kay :   A Letter To Her Murderer.

Meet me over there.

Kim, even though I know your story well, you still make me cry. It is beautiful to watch as you turn this tragedy into powerful life lessons that give hope and direction to so many. I’m leaving my comment here because the sister wives site did not accept my password, and like you I’m not too good with techie things. xxxxxx

Thank you for the honest and heartfelt letter. That is crazy that you said “he looks like a monster” when you met him. It is interesting how we get those uneasy feelings around someone who you can tell is unhinged. I’ve only got the feeling a few times, but it is very unsettling. I send positive vibes your way Kim.
