16 Things I Effing Love, Love, Love

  1. Black Boots.   I once asked Mr. Liverpool if he knew what my favorite color was.  After much consideration and sighing,  he finally says,  “black boots!”  Classic.

  1. Lipstick.   I have tubes of cherry red,  hot pink,  vivid raspberry,  cool coral, & clear gloss.  Furthermore,  I have all of Kay’s bags upon bags of Clinique,  which I shall keep forever.

  1. Family Gatherings.   Almost every Sunday,  my daddy prepares a huge spaghetti dinner at his house on 95th and Seaver:  Homemade sauce with bacon,  Italian sausage,  beef ribs,  pigs feet,  canned corn, thick pasta from the Italian Village, and sometimes,  polenta,  which is like biting into my childhood.  YESSSSS.  See my daddy HERE!

  1. This Quote by Sylvia Plath:  “I took a deep breath and listened to the old brag of my heart:  I am,  I am,  I am.”    ( it’s a reminder that we are  A-L-I-V-E ).

  1. Meeting Kick Ass  Blogging Chicks.  Do any of these cards look familiar?   I’m in touch with women from South Africa, Australia, France, Germany, Great Britain, New York, Sweden, Norway, & Maine.  ( to name a few ) Oh,  and a few dudes,  as well.

  1. The Road Less Traveled:   I take the same route on my walk every. single.  day.

I typically encounter the same people (we nod at one another, ‘Hey.’)  I pick the same flowers  (I steal them from Mrs. Bennett’s garden ). I pet the same dog,  Sierra, and walk over the same railroad tracks ( I love trains ). Last week,  quite out of character, I decided to take a side road.  What I stumbled upon was the Land of Eden, The Yellow Brick Road.  SEE Below!  This is a metaphor—but it’s not a metaphor.  Don’t you LooooooooOVE?!

  1. The Breakfast Club:   I looooooove this film:   The brain. The athlete. The basket case. The princess.  The criminal.  I love all of them.  I was the basket case…but now, I’m the princess!  Watch Here!!

        8.  Audio Books.   I go a bit nuts when people assume listening to audio books is  cheating.  “You’re not actually reading,”  they exclaim.    I say,  “Are the words still flowing inside my ears?  Are the stories still molding inside my mind?”  Yes.  And yes. Assholes.  I mean,  you’re entitled to your opinion, people.

9.   Blue Chips w/ Guacamole Dip.  Delicious & Heavenly.  Here’s what you do:  get your organic blue chips and guac together, a glass of red wine, choose an Indie movie from Netflix & enjoy your evening, darlings.

10.    Taking Photos of My Cat:    I confess,  I’m a cat woman.  So what. Anyhow,  my cat isn’t  happy about this fact.  I dress him up like Gaga,  put leopard sweaters on him & chased him up the tree for this photo.  Look at that face!

        11. Downton Abbey:  Decadent.  Delicious.   Devine.  Un-fucking-forgettable.  Get Hooked HERE!

       12.  Take Me To The King.  I’ve already told everybody  that this is the song I want played at my funeral.  I love it so so so so so so much.  I also looooove the word  “SO.”   Listen NOW!

     13.  Billy Bob Thornton:   This Interview  stirred me,  touched me,  inspired me.  I loooooooooove Billy.

14.   Verbs.  For example,  I love the verbs in the 23rd Psalm:   Leads.  Restores. Guides.  Anoints.  Comforts.  Protects.  Prepares.  Refreshes.  Follows.  LOVE.

        15.   Inspirational People.   I adore people who cause me to think,  reflect,  transform,  evolve,  bloom,  believe,  love harder  &  live better.

        16.    Revolution & Girls Wanna Have Fun:   If my blog had a 2 theme songs:   Revolution  &  GIRLS!

—-Readers,  tell me some things that you effing love!

Alpha Hubby, Alpha Hubby, Alpha Hubby. What? You thought there was something else? Ha! Oh OK, I discovered a totally awesome weirdo movie on Netflix – Assassin in Love – and now it is a favorite along with The Princess Bride (so funny). Dark chocolate with sea salt; huge old snapdragon flowers, swimming in the pool by moonlight, and snow: snowflakes, snowmen, snow drifts, snow angels, snow piles. So much more but seriously, who’d care? What I love in the internet world is YOU.

Anytime a time either mentions or wears black boots the only that swoons through my head is Nancy Sinatra’s “These Boots Were Made For Walkin’.” Massive love for that song! Lip gloss (not lipstick) can make my toes curl with delight upon kissing a gal’s lips that is wearing it! Whoa!! Did Phoenix send you a card for your wall??? If that’s not him I hope he doesn’t see this! He’s in the other room. Love the pic of your kitty! Have you ever seen the movie, Have you ever seen B.B.T.’s movie “Bandits”??? It’s absolutely HYSTERICAL, Kim!! Our best always to you xoxo’s 🙂

Your cat is cute. I think your father is wonderful to cook up that big pasta dish for all the family every Sunday. I had never thought about the verbs in Ps 23 but really, if we need hope, all we need to do is cling to those verbs. If I could walk through a garden like that every day I wouldn’t change my route either xx

We should get together and gorge ourselves on chips and guac dip sometime 😉 Though of course I won’t be wearing any lipstick. It’s the one type of make-up I never could get used to. As for audio books, it’s definitely not cheating. I get through one, if not two, books a month that way just in the time it takes me to walk the dog.

    * How can a girl live without black boots? I mean, come on! So, um, yes to that (I need new ones, actually).
    * I love people who aren’t afraid to tell me what they think – which is kind of rare.
    * I recently love blended lavender boba drinks so much that I don’t want to read the ingredient list (that can ruin a very good thing sometimes – and, erm, yes, I am usually a label reader)
    * I love my husband so much that my heart feels like it gets squeezed into the shape of a <3 every time I look into his beautiful eyes. No, really.
*I love your blog for its irreverent and stunning beauty – the way you allow it to reveal who you really are (or, wait, are you laughing all the way to the bank and I'm just a gullible fool?)

AH!!! Your daddy is the MAN!!! I really want to try those baby back ribs and bacon sauce… hmm…

Yellow brick road… amazing! Perhaps you need to keep THAT route as your every day now.

I love that you know people from all around the world. Ah, the power of the internet for the good.

My absolute favorite thing? Solitude. Always has been. Even when I was a kid- I would bike away from home and find my ‘place’ by the creek and take out my journal and write and pray… alone. Oh how that filled my heart in this miraculous way.
Funny though- I’m such a people person, I thrive on people!!! But I love my time alone, eh- with God alone, best.

Kim, I love quite a few of things you love. I have tons off lipstick, mostly Clinique. Whenever I want to treat myself, I get a new lipstick. Actually my favorite these days is Smashbox Vivid Violet. That color is absolutely divine!

As someone who works at a PBS station, I’m thrilled you love Downton Abbey. I recently posted on Facebook that next year there’s an exciting new series coming, Indian Summer. Promises to be just as good, and even better. I saw previews and it is juicy, sinful, hot and terribly romantic. Set in India during the time of the revolution for independence. I for one cannot wait to see it!

Your cat is purrfect! I too must confess to being a cat lover – nothing wrong with that. I have been trying very unsuccessfully to take photos of my three for you – they refuse to cooperate – I even sneak up on them when they are sleeping and its almost as if they know what I want to do – they will open one one, give me that – “oh you have got to be kidding me, not again” look, yawn, stretch and jump off whatever they were sleeping on. I will have to try a new tactic!
    Have a beautiful day Kim!

    I effing love this life.
I love that it challenges me at most every turn to extend and expand beyond my current understanding.
I love that it gives me pause to reflect on long-held beliefs to assure myself they’re my own, and not someone else’s I was taught – or told – to take on as my own.
I love that it reveals its not-so-secret mysteries to me at its ideal time, in its ideal way. (Not in “my ideal time” or “my ideal way.”)

1-You remembered Norway! I love that!
2-I miss being away from my family and their big Sunday potluck dinners.
3-inspirational people- I just spent a weekend training with Kino Macgregor. I’m too sore to breath, but all the people around me were trying so damn hard and that was very VERY inspirational. I love yogis.
4-Bright lipstick- I never thought I was worthy, but lately I look so washed out in my pictures. I’m gonna get some!
5-blue chips-man those puppies need to hop the pond! I haven’t seen them in Whoville.
6-I still have not seen a single episode of Downtown Abby :0
What do I love? Writing, yoga, cocoanut water, fried eggs, the ocean, swimming naked, drinking wine with good friends, life.

    Miss you!

This is such a great list! I would be in heaven to have found that little side road. It looks so peaceful, like a little piece of heaven. The Breakfast Club is one of my all time favorite movies. I haven’t seen it in a while…it may be time. I love guacamole with almost anything!
I have never seen Downton Abbey. I know, I know….I will watch it one of these days! I hear it’s fantastic…from everyone. Personally, I am on pins and needles waiting for Sons of Anarchy’s last season to start next month. That’s my TV addiction.
Isn’t one of the best things about blogging the people you come across? I know a whole world opened up for me since I started and I love it!

I love your vibrant list Kim. So many things on there that I love too!

It’s those little things in my life that give me the greatest pleasure. Taking a walk in the forest, spending fun time with my daughters, finding a chocolate bar in the fridge that I’d forgotten was there, reading (or listening to!) a really good book, saying a prayer and having that feeling that I’ve been heard.

What I love the most about my life is the people that love me as much as I love them 🙂

😀 What a gorgeous list! I wondered why you didn’t list chocolate and just saw your comment above!

I LOVE that song “Girls just wanna have fun” – my best friend and I used to zoom around town on my scooter singing it at the top of our voices. There’s a song that goes with it …”Boys just wanna have sex” 😀

I have the Sylvia Plath quote printed and stuck on my bookshelf where I can see it Kim!

Oh, I love you more than the sight of hundreds of women flower vendors I saw a the market yesterday – all of them smiling, hopeful, encouraging!

Love your comment about lipstick. My seven-year-old granddaughter spent the night with me recently. She found a red lipstick in my bathroom (one of those Clinique freebies). She said, “I’ve been wanting a red lipstick for a loooong time.” I think she would enjoy getting into your collection. I put a photo of her in a bubble bath with her awesomely painted lips.

Dear Kim, after you left a comment on my blog about how much you loved audio books, I went over to have a look at Audible. I chose A Discovery of witches read by Jennifer Ikeda (who also read The Storyteller). I’m hooked! I love them! It’s my motivation for walking everyday!

I love what you wrote on The Road Less Traveled. . that’s awesome. . when I lived in WA, I would take walks as well and just loved the beauty around me, nature and the calmness of it all. Now, I still love quiet mornings before anyone in my house is awake. . so I can get work done and just have a little “me time” with my cup of coffee.

I love listening to Wayne Dyer, Joseph Murphy and Ernest Holmes via Youtube when I walk outside. I love white chocolate. I love being up early in the morning and having the house to myself. I love thrift stores. I love watching endless reruns of Unique Sweets. I love having movies playing to keep me company while I bake. I love the color of the sky when the sun rises and sets. I love old school R&B and disco. I’ll stop there.

    I LOVE…

Christian praise music and instrumental relaxation music.

My first cup of coffee in the morning. (It’s even better if I’m sharing the sofa with my Rik).

Chilling in front of my goldfish aquarium.

Animals. Honestly, I believe they are a gift from God. I love to press my check against my cat and listen to her purr, or watching a dog fill up with joy by just playing with a stick.

Creating things with my hands. Like crafts, art, or creative writing.

    Cooking and looking at recipes.

    The show Create. Go figure.

    Naps with flannel sheets.

    Shopping in second hand stores.

Water; lakes streams, ponds, the ocean.

Reading (there is this blog I like to read called My Inner

Children; their innocence, their hugs, and their laughter.

    Decorating; as in home décor.

Watching home improvement shows and seeing the before after pics.

Comedy. I love the oldies like Laurel & Hardy, Carol Burnette, & The Little Rascals.
