Kim's Blogs

13 Reasons I Continue Blogging

1.  I can scream my
bloody head off and nobody can tell me to shut the fuck up. (at least,  verbally!)  Stop rolling your eyes, Mr. L.

2.  Since it’s my
domain, after all,  I can shoot photos of
my idiot cat reading books and digging though the garbage can just for the hell
of it & 50 people will comment on how absolutely adorable he is.  He.
Is.  Not.

3.   I can
appreciate other bloggers who are utterly, beautifully, wonderfully as crazy as
I am.  I love to read raw, authentic
blogs.  You know,  the kind where the heart is still beating
upon the page.

4.   I can walk up to
people at a Madonna concert and say– “Hey,
can I take a photo of you for my blog?”  They all said YES.

The Real Madonna! WOW!

5.   I can cut open up
my vein and allow the blood to pour all over the syllables, consonants and
verbs.  O, My,  I do do do worship V E R B S.

6.    The only editor
I need worry about it “ME.”  So,  SHuuuUT UP about my dangling modifiers.

7.    I can introduce
the world to my sister, Kay,  so they can
love love love her too.

8.    If readers are
nasty, insufferable, or yucky,  I can
simply delete them from my virtual universe.
Take that,  biatch!

9.     I can interview
people like Beryl Singleton Bissell &
Lisa Genova (I mean,  I have a platform,  babe!)

10.    I can read
comments like this from the Middle East:

“My name is Nicole, I’m from Lebanon. As a victim of domestic violence and abuse, still living in the same situation, i want to thank you for this post.” (btw,  Nicole is now out of her violent situation!!!!!)

11.    I can promote
my cause, influence minds, & encourage proactivism.

12.     I can rise up rise up rise up with words —because my
sister cannot.

by ~7horin

13.    I can meet
other bloggers face to face,  skin to
skin,  eye to eye.

Mama\’s Money Matters &  Tilted Tiara Flew up to Minnesota for Kay’s Walk!

Counting Ducks from LONDON! LOVE! we met in Waterloo!

Wild Child Mama came to Kay’s Walk to END domestic violence!

—-Darling, Reader,  if you blog,  WHY do you do it?  If you read blogs,  what gives you fulfillment? xxXx

Damn, we are a good looking bunch of women!

    I love you, Kimmy!

I keep blogging because the world still needs someone to, every once in a while, kick them in the tush for accepting crap which they absolutely can change. (We very much have this in common, IJS.)

I love your reasons for blogging, Kim! I blog to help women going through divorce. I remember how alone i felt while going through mine. I hope to help women feel understood as well as give some practical tips, tpo. Anyway, sometimes i just like to write about life experiences in The Wine Diaries. You have done such an amazing job with your blog and the run for Kay, to help other women in abusive situations-phenomenal!

Kim, I think this post resonates with most, if not all of us. Blogging is indeed the kind of platform that allows us control over what we want read, seen, or heard. It allows us to scream, whisper, or giggle. Like you mention, we can share any photos we want–how I love this darling furry friend of yours! And yes, that means endless shots of little Roxy doing absolutely nothing! ha! Sending you love across the miles! 🙂

This is an absolute great list Kim. I love to blog because it gives me a voice. I left my home country by choice to follow my heart but it’s not easy every day: I miss my family and friends, I struggle to find work… At least I can write and publish and people can read and interact with me. Nothing makes me more happy than when I receive an email or comment like the one you received from Nicole.

I write because it is like taking a breath – I have to, to live. To know who I am. To get all the words OUT that sometimes get clogged up inside me, needing a place to come out and play, sometimes with others, sometimes alone. Even if no one ever reads those words that get spewed out. And because you are SO faithful to me that you grab my heart because of it. You help me express the unbelievable love-gift I was given so late in my life, a gift I never even dreamed was real. Thank you so much. I read you because you – YOU – are so very real and so very honest and break my heart, inspire me, electrify me, teach me, help me, cause me to grow, and help me because now I know there are amazing women like you out there.

    LOVE LOVE LOVE this post!!!!

I cannot remember how I found you but I am SO GLAD I did!!

I love reading blogs like yours because of the bloody mess you are willing to offer your readers. The vulnerability, the rough edges of unedited, unfiltered honest-to-God unpolished VERBS and whatever modifiers your blogger writer self chooses to use. I adore your voice, and your voice for Kay and all other women who need help Finding Their Voice to end abuse, like the dear sister in Lebanon!

And I myself continue blogging because writing is how I best express myself and I am a people person so I really, really like to connect to readers through the media of blogging. I wish I had a Mission like you do and so many other bloggers I know….but nope, I just put whatever out there and that’s about it. I’m a woman blogging from Portland about whatever. Compelling, I know! lol

And there are the most fabulous people to meet on the blogosphere that never would’ve crossed my path IRL. It started as a way to connect with others who have multiple sclerosis; it continues (well, except when I’m too tired/lazy/busy) because of all the aMAZing people I’ve met. Yes, that includes you!!

      I know.

I love cats. In fact, I’m a bit obsessed and wild about them. I know you are, too.

Damn, we have so much in common.

      Guess what?

When I see a cat in a garden or on somebody’s porch, I simply walk up and begin petting them. HAaaaaa. People have come out of their homes and wondered who the hell I am…. but then we just start talking about “CATS!!”

      True story.

LUV to you, My sweet lovely Mandy. Xxx

You are a woman after my own heart Kim. Pete always says cats are attracted to me and I will find them no matter where they are and I love picking them up and snuggling them and hear them purr – Pete can have a screaming fit because he says they may scratch me and have a disease of sort – I say NEVER! xoxoxoxo

You are simply amazing Kim and so is your blog! I love that you have a picture of your cat with a copy of one of my favourite books ever 🙂
But what I love most is your passion to take your tragedy and turn it into a place of healing and inspiration. Love you. xxx

Blogging rocks, doesn’t it?! Love that you do it. Amazing the folks we meet and friends we make.

On another note, for some reason, I’m not getting announcements about your posts anymore. Every once in a while I think to check–wondering if you aren’t writing. Hell, I should know better than to think that. Wonder what I need to do about this.

a blog is empowerment, and indeed quite a platform. the lack of editor is a nice thing and sometimes it’s not, at least for me. i think the fact that you don’t take this publishing platform is consistent with your hear me roar paint strokes, fellow soul adventurer:)

Thank you for sharing my message. Thank you for contacting me that day. I have been having few bad days and that’s why I wasn’t able to come and reply earlier. In fact, that’s why I’m not able to concentrate like \I did before, but I miss blogging, I miss all my friends. Love you

I love that the cat is reading Jonathan Livingston Seagull. (I still remember reading that book in middle school and I was much less adorable then – ha!)

I love the book Still Alice – how cool that you got to interview her!

I love your love for your sister.
(There aren’t enough words to describe it. Even with all the verbs.)

    You are a treasure.
And sometimes, I DON’T blog for a while.

But when I come back, I always come back to you.
