Baking The Mourning Away With Chocolate Chip Cookies

–WARNING:  these are like eating dangerous SINS.  Watch Out!

—-Baking Chocolate Chip Cookies with The Goddess is like
traveling back into my beautiful–magical childhood.

Cracking eggs.
Sifting.  Measuring.  Chocolate melting.  Brown sugar softening.   Sweet
butter floating in air.  Memories flowing.  Love.

And of course,  we
could not bake these lush sins without discussing Kay.  How she would’ve NEVER missed baking with The
Goddess, how she would be savoring one warm cookie from each batch as if it
were the first time…exclaiming,  “I’ll start my diet tomorrow.”

–The Dough is FABulously Rich.

–The Goddess uses a ice-cream scoop to get them peeeerfect.

–Nobody bakes them a beautifully as this.  Mmmmmmmmmmm.  My ass just grew.  DAMN.

–Pure  Love.

–Daddy & Aaron devouring Sins.  Look at my dad’s face filled with ecstacy.

——Darling, Reader,  what is your ART, Release, Passion?   How do you bring light into your world when you need it most?

TIP:  do not OVERBAKE!  You want the SINS soft.   Also, Use LOTS of chocolate chips.

Yum! My passion is my art, and my art is my passion. I love to help people to feel better, from the inside out, through whatever method is best for them. In most cases, it’s the spoken or written word, compounded by Reiki and/or energy healing. Sometimes, it’s compounded by delicious food made with heaping amounts of love.
It’s remarkable to me (and may it ever be so), that starting a conversation about the need/desire to feel better (one I just had with a client a short while ago) sets the process in motion. The fingers of relief reach in and touch the heart with the presence of compassion. It’s a beautiful thing.
I see the compassion (and feel the relief) in those gorgeous cookies. That’s a beautiful, delicious thing, and you and The Goddess are beautiful, too.
    Love. xoxo

I used to bake alot more than I do now. I always found it therapeutic and of course, the reward at the end unparalleled. Now though, my guy doesn’t want me to bake stuff cause he’ll get fat (so will I but whatever). I love to get out for a walk or a run for therapy. Being out in nature helps me think and I always feel better after. Your cookies look amazing and my mouth is watering…

Once I taste one hot-out-of-the-oven chocolate chip cookie, I can’t stop. I bet I could put away that entire batch your mama just made. PRECIOUS photo of you and her–with the doggie staring you down. XXXXXXXXXXX Love to you and your sweet mama.

Dear Kim, I no longer come as often to do my rounds of the blogosphere, but often think of you…
These cookies look scrumptious, and just made me want to bake some with the children on Wednesday, because your blog always reminds me that life should be savoured, one mouthful at a time. Lots of luuuurve from the miserable-Springed French Alps 🙂 xxx

I can almost taste these, Kim, and they are as sinful as you say! Wish somebody would perfect sensing over the Internet so we could smell and enjoy things like cookies. And while they’re at it, might as well be able to reach right in and snatch a sample!

Your family looks like they’re enjoying the treats — even the dog looks like it wants some! I never heard of using an ice cream scoop to measure, but hey, whatever works. Probably makes bigger cookies, doesn’t it?! Mmm, scrumptious!

YUM! Reading this was almost as good as eating a warm homemade chocolate chip cookie. Nice to know someone still makes homemade. You’re tempting me to go get the bowl and spoon out…but alas no choc chips in my house. Serious oversight. Will remedy it next weekend. For sure. LOVE your Dad’s face.

    Want, now, gimme, now….pretty please.

I use to be the baker in the family. Every holiday the mother of my heart would give me the list of cookies and breads I was required to bring to the family gatherings and my sons and I would get busy. We would fill tubs with cookies, dozens of different kinds. Then breads, soda breads, nut breads, heavy breakfast breads and desert breads.

I don’t bake any more. My ass just can’t take it.

These those, I would make an exception.

    Can’t wait to see you!

Sigh. You are now responsible for the drool on my keyboard, Kim! My release is music, sketching and making masala powders from scratch. Roasting until the whole house is filled with the fragrance of golden brown lentils and spices, enhanced when they are ground, combined and sit in the large bowls to cool before storing in bottles. It calms me down and makes me sane.

Love you more than twenty trays of soft, moist chocolate chip cookies!

Depends. When Alpha Son lived at home, his fave meal – spaghetti. At that time with Alpha Hubby it was manicotti & my mom’s killer brownies, warm with whipped cream & occasionally a fresh blueberry sauce. Now he doesn’t eat pasta or desserts except as a very rare and special treat. So, with Alpha Son out of the house, for Alpha Hubby and bringing light into his world when he needs it most? Scented sheets, subtle lights, lotioned, scented and warm body, soft music… taking the darkness away.

Your chocolate chip cookies look wonderful of course but what I like even better is the photographs of your family and yourself, what a nice picture of you and your mom and the rest of the family – I have been thinking about your blog quite a bit ever since you stopped by mine and I came her to read quite a few of your inspiring posts – when I was a student, I used to work as a volunteer at a womens shelter and it was some of the bets “work” I have ever done in my life – now that I am living in a different country, I must say that I do miss being able to help out there and I think I should try to fit some volunteer work into my somewhat busy life again!
I find your blog very inspiring!
