In Memory of Kay Kim's Blogs

A Few Of My Distractions & Favorite Things

–This quote by Goldberg excites me.

I enjoy making English Shortbread for Mr. Liverpool.

I LOooove this pen set by Jodene from New York.  THANK YOU, dear!  X

If you are wondering why LIPS are such a big deal on my blog …etc…it is because my sister, Kay, was known for her big pink lips!  She gave me this book about 4 years ago.

The Unabridged Journals of Sylvia Plath is in my TOP 10 books of all time along w/ To Kill A Mockingbird,  Evening, Lolita, Stones From The River & Ariel.

My mission is to RISE with other women to END Domestic Violence  &  BREAK the SILENCE.  Forever & ever & ever…

I  appreciate this silk scarf from Patti.  It is soooooo very Kay.  Thank you.  Xxxx

My all time favorite photo of Kay crossing over…I’ll meet you on the other side, my love.

love this video by Maggie from Silence UnSilenced.  Kay and I are in the video.  NEVER STAY SILENT!  NEVER.  never.   never. NEVER  Never.

It is a healing experience being part of the KAY MARIE SISTO MEMORIAL WALK to END domestic violence:  Saturday, June 1, 2013 @ 11:00 AM

That scarf is so COOL! I couldn’t watch the video much at all. When she got to the sign about boys being sexually abused, I stopped. My grandson was one of those boys. He was so young, so perfect, and now he sees the world much differently. We’ve tracked down the animal that did those things to him. Now we wait. We wait for the detective to set the trap. We wait, and we cry, and we won’t leave the detective alone until the monster is arrested.

I was loving the photos one by one – Natalie’s quote is a classic – and I have a weakness for photos of paper coming out of the typewriter – when I read “I’ll meet you on the other side, my love” and burst out crying. So moving, Kim.

    Love, love, love you!

A group of women began to meet on Saturday mornings so we could all tell our story. We created a safe place for women to tell their stories completely, without interruption of any sort, and with trusted support and confidentially. Each one could volunteer to take the hour totally for herself. Unless they didn’t want to. Or couldn’t. Some women needed up to three consecutive weeks – 5 years at a time. It didn’t matter.

All of us marvelled over the fact that we had never had the opportunity to speak our story from beginning to end. We did it through tears, laughter or wails. We appreciated NO interruptions – no, no hugs until after. Each woman, amidst the silent and loving support of other women, came through her journey and realized her beauty. We all came away with renewed strength.

I could not believe the abuse! And the number of women who’ve had abortions due to abuse and NO ONE encouraged them or offered to help them with private ceremonies needed to honour the lives of these little souls.

    Yes, silence murders.
