I Rise I Rise I Rise

( Inspired by Women Hold Up Half The SkyMaya Angelou, &  One Billion Rising )

He told me I was stupid, fat, and ugly.  He told me no other man would ever want me because I was fucking worthless.  I believed him.  But not anymore.

   I Rise.

He told me he’d change, listen to me,  love me,  not hurt me.  I believed him.  But not anymore.

   I Rise.

He told me I had to surrender my sex.  He was the leader of the house, after all.  He told me obedience to men was God’s word.  I believed him.  But not anymore.

   I Rise.

He called me a slut, a whore, a bitch, an insignificant piece of shit.  I believed him.  But not anymore.

   I Rise.

He told me I couldn’t make it without him financially, emotionally, intellectually.   I believed him.  But not anymore.

   I Rise.

He hit me with his foul, demeaning, belittling words and fists.  He made me bleed inside and outside my body.  He told me I got what I deserved.  I believed him.  But not anymore.

I Rise.

I Rise.

I Rise.

—Stop whatever you’re doing this moment and RISE with a Billion other women and men.  Stand up where you are and scream,—  “NO More!  Not one more day!  I RISE.  I Rise.  I rise.

You Can Do It!   And when you do,  you will finally be liberated, freed, and released from your cage.

Watch this 3 minute POWERFUL film and rise from where-ever you are.

Women helping women finding their voice is the best thing to ever happen. I love your powerful voice, Kim! Nobody deserves to suffer domestic violence, or any type of violence. I pray for the day when one sex is not considered superior over the other. I live in a culture where this is rampant – and the percentage of female foeticide is so high, even today. There are organizations desperately trying to fight this. The crime rate related to abused women is so high.

The change must happen within each family where everyone respects one another.

Love you, Kim, for making a difference and amplifying the message, urging people to seek help.

    Hugs! Vidya

Goosebumps, all over my arms, legs, back of my neck. Phew this was powerful. It made me think how much could have been different in my life had I known you way back when. You have A voice in the darkness, consistent, loud, constant, powerful enough to help someone really believe they have the right To Rise.

What is so funny is years later – years – I was realizing how all life-encompasing and life-altering the ugly things that happen to us are, how they can pop out as an exquisitely painful trigger and you wonder “How long do I have to continue being the victim to memories I thought were dealt with?”

This post hit me so hard as I realized that as “I rise”, I AM FREE and it is way past time for my memories to realize it and catch up with my freedom. Thank you.

Powerful and empowering. I love what you’re doing, Kim, in helping women stand up for themselves. After visiting the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles last summer, and learning that women are the number one victim of violence, it became real to me just how important your work is. I don’t think anyone sees herself as becoming a victim to such abuse, but little by little has her confidence, security, and independence stripped away. A sense of empowerment is what woman glean from a movement such as this. The strength in the union of so many women who have finally opened their eyes to abuse and dare to say, “No more!” We can only hope that this message continues to encourage women to cry out, to seek protection from their abusers, and to take the necessary measures to be safe. There is no world without women. In childhood every man see their mom in the form of God with pure love, then he see his wife with another stage of Love. Then he get love from his daughter and its going on. So every man in this world need women for love and so on, it depends on their need and mentality. So respect women for their love.
