—I told my readers to ask me a few questions & by golly
Miss Molly, they did. Thank you, dears.
I shall waste no more of your time…. Lets begin.
1. Keeping Time
Emily: I’ve
always been curious about your writing. I know you’ve mentioned a book before.
K:Â I am in the process of putting a book
together about Kay. It is called  “730
Days.â€
2. Baroquesicily
Jann: Ciao Kim,
like Emily, I am very interested in your writing. Tell us something–anything–
about your writing process.
K: I write all day long inside my head. I dream in words- not pictures. Without this release, I would have died after
Kay was murdered. Â I can write
anywhere. I don’t have a specific place.
Writing is prayer.
Jen: Have you ever fantasized of a dream vacation?
K:   My fantasy vacation is Africa. I want to visit my mentor, Mercy! I’d also like to see the Mountain
Gorillas.
4. Wild Child Mama
Kjersti:Â How did you meet Mr. Liverpool? How did he
propose?
K: I met Mr. L. on Carnival Cruise Lines. Everybody knew we hooked up because he had
red lipstick all over his casino shirt the next day! He proposed in a pub in Huyton, Liverpool.
Monica:Â Did you
happen by any chance to catch the verdict for Drew Peterson
K: Yes. I watched
the trial. He got EVERYTHING he
deserved. He’s a Pig, a women beater,
& a Killer.
6. Going A Musing
Vidya: What is
your favorite dream that you would like to see come true?
K: My dream is to write a book about Kay’s
Story. I want everybody in the universe
to know her beauty and struggle as I did.
Another dream would be to stay home all day long to write and quit my
day job.
7. Go Bake Yourself
Choc: Ok so tell me, how did you and Mercy start
becoming pen pals (which I think rocks!)?
K: I read Mercy\’s Winning Essay
on a literary site and contacted the editor. Her writing is unbelievably powerful. The rest is history. We connected and fell in love. She was only 19!
E:Â What, if anything, has been helpful in the
time since Kay was stolen from you?
K: Knowing God exists. Wine.
Girlfriends. Poetry.  Family. Baking chocolate chip cookies.
9. Feeling Beachie
Beachie:Â What is your favorite childhood memory of you
and Kay?
K:Â My dad was quite upset because somebody had
eaten all of his chocolate kisses. Kay
swore she didn’t do it. “Why do I always
get blamed, “ she cried. Months later I
found about 50 silver wrappers tucked inside her socks. I never told. Until NOW.
Mama A: I want to
ask – what book do you wish you’d NEVER read?
K: Â HaaaHaaaa.
That’s easy. “50 Shades of Shit!â€
11. Heal Now & Forever
Jodi:Â What would you say to someone whose family
doesn’t support her leaving
an abuser?
K: I’d say it doesn’t matter a damn what your
family thinks. Leave. Don’t wait one
more day. Leave before you end up like
my sister. I wish I wish I wish she
wouldn’t have waited so long.
Leave. Leave. Leave.
Elizabeth: How did I get to be so lucky to
become friends with you?
K:Â Excuuuuse me,
I’m the lucky one, Miss New York Thang.
13. Lady Fi
Lady Fi: I’d love to know more about Mercy! How did
you become friends,
penpals? Have you ever met? What unites the two of you?
K: Words found us. Words connect us. We may meet in April in London!
14. Sweet Sensations
Sandra:Â How do you relax?
K: I am addicted
to Indie Films. I’ve watched all of them
on Netflix…. & of course, Red Wine, baking, & listening to Adele
& Nora Jones.
15. Mamawolfe
Mama W: Let me ask you about education…what was yours
like? What do you hope for the future of education in America?
K: I graduated 4 years ago with my BA. My boys were able to watch me walk. My hope for the future is that everybody,
regardless of the economic status, can receive a higher education and not need
to pay back astronomical loans!
16. Bringing Along OCD
Tina: How does writing help you battle the hurt and
pain of your sister’s death?
K:Â Easy.
The writing & words have SAVED me over and over again.
Mandy: What one skill would you love to learn to be
able to share with people, young and old?
K: I would love to teach Poetry &
Writing as Therapy. It’s comforting to
get your brain and pain on paper.
Solid: What is a pleasant surprise you have received
in life?
K: Â I was continually surprised & amazed who
became my earth angels after Kay’s murder.
I was like, “Oooooh, I never expected you to love me!â€
19. Soul Dipper
Amy: If you could
sit with Jesus and ask any ONE question, what would your question be?
K: You know what I’d ask, don’t you?
20.    Tilted Tiara
Val: If there is
one person in history you could sit down and talk to who would it be?
K. Sooooo Many,
but the person I’d love to spend time with the most to dicuss writing is Sylvia Plath.
Tara: What was the best day of your life?
K: When we’d be at a
family gathering and EVERYBODY, including Kay, was there laughing, eating, Â & telling funny stories.
22. Mercy Adhiambo
M: Ok, my
question is, if you look into your life, do you have something that you wish
you would have done differently?
K:Â Yes.
Only one thing.  I wish I would
have gotten Kay out of that house a long time ago.
Sandra:Â Where were you and what were you doing when
you heard the news of Kay’s brutal death?
K:Â I was mowing the lawn, Â listening to Pillars of the Earth on my
headset. When I got the call, I fell to my knees on the kitchen floor. I shall never forget. Never as long as I live. NEVER.
24.  Fancy That Fancy This
Ameena: Can you share your baking?
K: Yes.
The shortbread is superb.
25. That Skinny Chick Can Bake
Liz:Â What is your absolute favorite dessert?
K: No hesitation. Crème Brule is better than sex.
26. Domer Mom
Debbie: How did you get to be so popular in the
blogosphere? Do you read all these blogs in return?
K: I don’t know whether I’m so popular, but I do
read and comment on every single blog!
Whew. It’s a full time job.
27:Â Not Quite Nigella
Lorraine: I’m
curious to hear what a day in the life of Kim is like.
K: On the days I don’t work– I make a big
breakfast for my family. I usually burn the bacon while I write my Saturday
blog!
28. Girl With A New Life
Tina: I want to know the favorite piece of clothing
in your closet.
K: One of my favorite pieces is something
Kay bought me for my birthday: A (fake) fur wrap for my neck. I haven’t put it on yet. It is beautiful.
29. A Nut In a Nut Shell
Liz: Can I have your shortbread recipe?
K:Â Â Â Yes.
30. Unknown Mami
Mami: Close your
eyes for a second, take 3 deep breaths, and tell me what you like the most
about yourself.
K: Oooo,  much easier to say what I don’t like. But I think what I like the most is my ability
to escape in the( midst of darkness & pain) with words.
31. White Trash Diaries
Drama: Exactly HOW many licks does it take to get to
the center of a Tootsie Roll Pop?
K: I’ve pondered
this greatly and I’ve come up with an answer.
NONE. One must bite and devour
the tootsie roll immediately. Life is
too bloody short.
32. A Duck In Her Pond
Ducky: What’s this about a book?
K: Yes.
My first book will, of course, be about Kay.
Lisa: Can I have your shortbread recipe?
K:Â Absolutely
34. Twinisms
Bridget:Â Who will you be voting for in the
Presidential Election?
K: I’ll
give you a hint. He has a Kick
Ass Smile & his wife is already the “Mom in Chief.â€
35. Inspired Edibles
Kelly:Â Have you ever been completely stuck with your
writing? If so, what did you do to become unstuck?
K:Â Â Not really.
When I don’t write, I can’t
breathe….& I must breathe!
36. Impulsive Addict
Impulsive: If you could eat any one thing EVERYDAY
without worry of becoming 500 pounds, what would it be?
K. Simple.
Chocolate Chip Cookies. This
would be my last meal. With ice cold
milk.
37. La Dulce Vida
Adriana: How do
you deal on those days when Kay comes to mind and like a downpour it rains on
you.
K. It’s been a dreadful week for me. I hate to admit this, but when the grief
rains upon me, drowns me…. I am silent. I
don’t answer the phone. I isolate
myself. &  I cry cry cry
38. Passionate Pursuits
Brenda: What I’d
like to ask is what is your favorite pre-teen memory with Kay.
K:Â Brenda, there are so many, but of my
favorites is  when we used to sing songs
while doing the dishes together. Well,
one day we looked out the kitchen window and the cute neighbor boy ( who we
both had a crush on ) and all of his friends were listening to us laughing
their butts off.
39. One Sister\’s Rant
Bella: Kim, I love, love this idea! My question is:
How were you and Kay alike? How were you different?
K: We were the same about important issues
such as values, morals, & love…but
VERY different in other ways. For
example, she is Taylor Swift & I am
Joan Jett. Get it?
40.  Counting Ducks
Ducky: I am curious to know a bit more about Mr.
Liverpool.
K: Mr. Liverpool is a British Citizen w/ a
green card. He is very soft spoken &
continually says that he lost his entire voice when he met m…! I don’t’ know why, but he says I am bossy and
loud!

I loved being w/ you! Remember all the fun we had? Remember when I used to tell you that you were the only person just about as beautiful as Kay?
Remember? What is yours? Xxxx
Love all your answers, and that is a fabbo recipe for shortbread.
I started blogging to have a day job. I have been writing forstinkingever and was on the road to publishing some of my books. And now, two of them are available. Which lead to me opening my own publishing company, which will go live online in November…when I will release (at least) two more of my own books and around 20 others.
I have so many faves…many of which are regular visitors here, which is also a fave. One you may not have seen is http://runningnakedwithscissors.com Yes, Running Naked With Scissors. It is a fun and as deep as you might expect.
Much, much, much love, my sweet Kim <3

I agree with you on Tootsie Pops and Chocolate Chip cookies. This was a fab idea and I loved your honest, sensitivity, openness, and humor because some tough and heartwreching questions were asked. Those short breads (one of my fav treats) look amazing. I can’t wait to read you book.
I blog to keep my head clear, keep creative juices flowing and to amuse the many people residing in my head.

LOVED all your answers Kim! My question would have been, “When are you coming to LA?”
I hope, hope, hope you do get to meet Mercy in April. That would be a dream come true. I’d cry tears of joy for you two.
I started blogging because I needed to express myself, I wanted to see if people would relate to what I was saying, and of course to make people laugh. I never realized that blogging would not only be a form of expression, but a way to some wonderful, wonderful friendships that I cherish with all my heart and soul.

I got distracted after reading your last post and forgot to ask a question. So here it is… What is your day job?
I started blogging because I was choking on the thought of turning 60 and writing always helps me work through things. It did and we are 2 1/2 yrs. past that angst and I’m cool with being 62 and still feeling 32 most days. Writing about some of the ugly stuff is ugly, as you know, but like you I feel it helps me more than therapy ever could.
I have to tell you I’m sorry it took us so long to connect here in the blogosphere. We share a love for several of the same blogs… Mirth and Motivation, Counting Ducks!, and the one blog I would recommend to you if you don’t know of it is, dianabauer.com. Her blog used to be A Certain Simplicity but she’s revamped and set up a web site which includes her books and blog and pottery, etc. I love the way she writes!

Another amazing post. Mega thanks.
I started blogging because I was feeling inadequate – physically, mentally, emotionally and socially. I have been so grateful for the wonderful support I have received from so many bloggers. Perhaps particularly grateful for the support I have received from people like you who already have far too much on their own plates.
Hurting for you. Hurting with you. Always.
Dear E,
you continually amaze me w/ your great compassion.
I love that we’ve connected from SOOO far away.

This was beauitful. I might do this on Monday. I loved it! It took you do much time and you put so much thought into it. I want to check out all these other blogs! What beautiful people are attracted here. I am traveling to meet our dear Nikky in person tomorrow for the first time. She is still holding strong, despite horrible harrassment by handroid and and family. She now has the support of one sister, the one she is living with, which has changed since I asked you this question. Thank God! I will meet the sister too and the kids. Maybe soon, you can help me tell her story.
love you, Kim!
Anyway, I started blogging to get the ideas out of my head. They had been scrambling around in there for a while… And look, I helped save someone.

I find it interesting that, aside from picking up details, I did not learn anything new about you. That speaks a lot for your writing – you really do put yourself in it!
I had to stop reading and commenting on every post because of the time. I felt I was neglecting life. Some bloggers posted more than daily even! It was like an email that commanded a response. So I now visit when I can and it really shows in my comments #s – they dropped. However, interestingly, the numbers of readers and subscriptions has been climbing. So for comments, it showed me there was lots of reciprocating. There are some blogs/bloggers I do not like to miss. I have my handful of favs. Others I like can go in phases – depending on my time and what the blogger is writing about.
So mighty good for you if you can pull off all that reading and commenting, Kim!

Love you Kimmy. Sorry about your bad week. Let’s meet for wine or coffee so you can tell me about it. To let all your wonderful bloggers know you make the best creme brûlée !!! One moment at a time.
Love you, too.
We will meet VERY soon. XXxxx

I sort of figured that would be your answer – but it makes me love you even more. If that’s possible.

That’s a great interview from such a lovely range of interviewers. I would love to go to Africa too. I went there once and had the best ever holiday. I could meet you there one day! Lovely getting to know more about you and your definite strength of character. Love how you met your husband on a cruise ship! xx

This was such a great idea to do; I loved reading your answers and getting to know you better. I hope your dream comes true soon to be a writer ALL DAY as I so enjoy your writing and always seem to get caught up in your words. That’s magical to me and you have it!!

What a fabulous idea you had there Kim! It feels so good to read more about you – It does not change much how I feel about you, you are an inspiration to me!
I started blogging cause I am in love with writing and I thought it was a waste to keep everything in my head. I needed to say things out loud. It also helped me when I met my husband, nobody agreed with my choice and I wanted to say love is not about the color of our skin or how we pray but definitely about what lay in our hearts.
I love many blogs but one of my favorite would be this one – http://soulsingingliv.blogspot.ie/.
Take care Kim, sending much love at the end of this tough week. xxx
Marie,
i adore your beautiful words.
who cares who agreed w/ your choice of husband. it’s your LIFE…Your Heart! Xxxx Kisssss

This was fabulous! I started blogging to document my grief. When I go back and read old posts I find it amazing how far I have come and how far I have yet to go. Sorry you had a bad week

we started blogging for the same reason. I remember somebody told me about your blog…and that’s how we met
When I go back and read my mourning…nothing much has changed. I still feel the same…Lonely. Sad. Longing. Missing.
but somehow I am still living, breathing, writing….going forward.
I love that we connected. Xxxx

This is a great post. I’m so glad all those lovely people asked so many of the things I would have asked. Now I have a question if you have the time to answer: If you were to ask Jesus “the question,” what do you think his answer would be?

Pat,
I’d ask Him why he left me behind on earth without my sister & soul-mate.
I ask him this All. The. Time.

I love how you’ve always turned to writing as your outlet for the most difficult struggles in life. And how incredibly poetic–and thoughtful–you are. I forgot about your love of Sylvia Plath and how that was one of the main reasons I could tell I’d like you so much.
I’m so sorry I haven’t stopped by in a while, but it’s always a pleasure.
Love and healing. XOXO

I began blogging because I needed a creative outlet. I became a mother and for the first time in my life I wasn’t creating on a regular basis or interacting with other creators. Blogging put me back in my element. Oh, it is too hard to pick a favorite blogger or just one link. I can’t do it.

Now that would have been something to see and hear.. So I challenge you.. the next time you are feeling a little less perky pink sing one of those songs or write one of those memories in one of your journals, sing for her from here. Great post, Kim. The questions were amazing – each could be a post on it’s owns. You are a hell of a woman.

Kim, I loved, loved reading your answers to these wonderful questions! I feel like I know you so much better. What a great idea! And I am just dying to try that shortbread recipe of yours. I can’t even remember the last time I had shortbread cookies. Yes, it’s definitely time little Roxy and I treated ourselves to some sugary carbs! We thank you for the recipe, my sweet!
I first started blogging after I moved across the country and felt disoriented, not just in geography but in my identity. I saw it as a way to ground myself and let my writing out of the closet. Since then my blog has become the place where I celebrate what is important to me.
I’m including one of my fav blogs below.
