{–Where you used to be, there is a hole in the world, which I find myself constanty walking around in the daytime, and falling into at night…}—Edna St. Vincent Millay
–The veil must have fallen slowly over the night….
because I awaken hurting
fucking hurting hurting.
I tell Mr. Liverpool,
“My heart hurts today.”
And he says, “I know.”
How did he know?
I say, “I’m extra
lonesome today.”
And he says, “Lean on
me.”
I’m trying to. I
really am.
I say, “How can I be homesick when I’m already home?”
And he says, “You’ll
always be homesick for her.”
Always. Always. Always.
I say, “How can a person walk in the world with half a
heart?”
He says, “You’re
doing it, Kim”
“I am?”
“Yes, you are.”
“I dreamed Kay and I were together all night long,” I say.
“What were you doing?”
“Laughing.
Praying. Loving.”
He grasps my hand.
“That’s a good dream.”
“It was a beautiful dream.”
“Do you want me to go to the cemetery with you today?”
“Yes. Yes, I do.”
“We can hang those chimes.”
“Okay. It’s too damn quiet up there. Kay needs some music.”
“I love you.” He says.
“Still?”
We both smile at the same time…
…Knowing nothing can ever be the same.

I know Kay can hear the music, Kim. Sit comfortably, Close your eyes, rest your palms on your thighs, lean back a little, relax and focus. Look into your heart….your soul….and you’ll see Kay smiling at you, as you smile back automatically. Imagine that you feel the gentle pressure of your hands on yours. She lives in your heart and spirit. She wishes you peace.
Those chimes are lovely (Thank you, Kelly) and the basket is so pretty, just like Kay. One day, when I meet you, we’ll go visit together. I wish I had known her.

The earth was cooling and comforting …. a sacred connection of sorts ~
When my husband and I had our green house – we refused to fill cemetery baskets. Instead, we offered “Celebrate Life” baskets – “select the color you would like me to spray paint this basket …..no, we don’t offer ‘cemetery green’ as a color – please choose a color that fits the celebration of your loved ones life……(smiles).
