~~~ When I find something I adore, I become addicted
quickly, immediately, impossibly.
I become ridiculously smitten with the pleasure of it, the fulfillment
of it.
Sort of like savoring
a hot fudge sundae and never quite taking the last bite.
Or playing the same song over and over and over again–but never
getting enough.
Or reading and re-reading Evening or Lolita just because the
language flows like syrup thru your veins.
Yes. I’ve been told I’m
a bit addictable and rather impossible.
I played Nora Jones on Saturday mornings for
one. strait.
year.
My son finally hid the CD from me.
After my Nora addiction,
it was Amy Winehouse, then Adele.
For example, I muuust vacuum to THIS SONG!!
I’m also addicted to easy, semi-made cookie recipes.
As if I need more c h o c o l a t e.
Anyhow, here is my
newest, addictable, remarkable, unbelievable cookie recipe.
I’ve already made these stunning sins five times and Saint
Shirley has made them twice…. & passed the recipe onto all of her sisters.
March 18, 2012 at 10:57 pmThe best things in life are chocolate. Chocolate never cheats on me, never asks me whether the ironing has been done, does not mind my bad hair, big bum, bad temper days. What’s not to love?
That said. While these look like joy my bum is nearing the proportions of the one in the Bob Hudson song
‘I don’t think that I have ever seen,
a bum as big as your big bum
I bet you pay double fare,
pretending that its not there
I don’t think that I have ever seen anything
as big as your big bum
The cookies look delicious, and the semi-homemade aspect is so attractive. I would definitely use the chocolate cake mix, if I were to make these, which I won’t, because I would want to “eat all the things!” 🙂
March 22, 2012 at 5:43 pmKim, I took one look at the tray of cookies and my breath caught in my throat, my heart slowed down, and I broke out into a cold sweat! Indeed, the addict within making an appearance! Oh my goodness! How utterly sinful! I hereby take the liberty of renaming these cookies, “Better than Sex Chocolate Chip Toffee Cookies!” Oh yeah! hee hee! And the Cupcake wine I am so dying to try! I’ll have you know I’m making my mom bring me a bottle when she comes to Spain in the summer! Have you tried the Angelfood Cupcake wine, lady? If so, tell me about it! 🙂
March 22, 2012 at 11:29 pm~~~ When I find something I adore, I become addicted
quickly, immediately, impossibly.
That is EXACTLY me, and it goes for everything. As you said, it can be one singer or one song playing again and again. It also goes to food at the same place, ordering the same thing and sitting at the same table. I become addicted to a TV show, to a Blog 🙂
I loved that you mentioned it 🙂
(FL) Girl with a New Life
April 4, 2012 at 9:47 amI tend to have an addictive personality so I understand. I’ll order the same thing at my fav restaurant every week for a year before I think to try something else. And I get over attached to my fav t-shirts or jeans. And don’t even try to give me my favorite bag of snacks and expect me not to finish it off in one sitting. Ah well. I guess it keeps things uncomplicated.
