Hey Kim – first I was disappointed in Ricky’s hosting job. my mother has better jabs then he delivered last night. I liked a lot of the clothes but i have to say (and I never thought i would say this since I have liked her since the early 80s) but Madonna is getting on my last nerve. George looked fab and they should have kept the camera on Colin Firth a little more. xx

Oh, you forgot Jane Fonda. She’s sexy at 70-something.
Nicole Richie has really grown up, having a family. I’m proud of her. She could still be doing the Kim Kardashian kinda thing but she’s so over it. Nicole Kidman always looks stunning. I fell out of like with Tom Cruise for leaving her. I’d never heard of Helen Mirren before but I thought she was beautiful!

My first vote is for Holly Bario, co-president of Dreamworks sitting front and center at the awards. Holly is number 40 on The Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment 2011: Power 100 and I’m more impressed in the dealmakers than the celebrities. But as far as dresses go, I loved Laura Dern’s green sparkly dress.

Oh dear. I’m not very good at this… I didn’t watch the Golden Globes – (and I’d actually have to look it up to find out what they’re for ;0) but that is one racy clip of Madonna (and I like her dress too!) – I read something about Jane Fonda in the comments section – she’s someone I enjoy; I sense that she’s really come in to herself over the years and is so much more peaceful and quietly confident; beautiful.

Aaaw, I love Sophia Vergara’s dress. Nicole Kidman always looks stylish, but golly, Angelina Jolie just looks pale and emaciated.
Ooooh, love a bit of chiffon, thanks Kim!
Film-wise, France is proud that The Artist got 3 globes I think…It’s a good film and deserved the recognition. As did the Iranian film The separation.

I was so crushed that the networks didn’t broadcast it here so I had to watch what I could on news sites! The dresses were lovely, I find they sometimes have a bit more fun with the GG and Emmys than the Oscars. Agree with your best dressed list! xxx

I thought Angelina Jolie and Helen Mirren looked absolutely gorgeous! No favorite moment really but my favorite movie has to be Hangover 2. I don’t laugh out loud a lot at movies but I was just dying when I saw this one. OMG…the monkey was soo funny. Actually French inhaled a cigarette. I lost it when I saw that!!!!!

There were some incredibly beautiful gowns. But I am not a fan of Nicole’s. That seashell thing threw me. Plus now when I look at her – beautiful as she is – all I see are the pics that compare her face and show me plastic surgery changes. Hmph. Sophia is so beautiful. I think Tina Fey’s gown was gorgeous, too! And Madonna I think looked great but sounded out of it. She was totally confusing.

All I can say is Wow! They all carry off their clothes so well. (“clothes” sounds like a boring way to put it :-)) Both Nicoles totally rock, as do the others :-).

By the way, I was just wondering why there was no post after Jan 12 – and was going to email you. Like an idiot, I didn’t visit your blog!

I am practising being offline 🙂 Too much stuff has piled up and the only way I’ll tackle it is by ignoring the computer at least for a little while 😀 Also tired with my medications for the flu and it makes me drowsy. I’d really rather be reading my favorite blogs – that’s so much more fun!

I just love watching award shows on TV – the atmosphere is magical and the hosts such fun to watch!

    Great post, Kim! Hugs!

But you know I’m BFF’s with Jen Aniston, right? So, now you know why I can’t be her friend…until she gives Brad back.

    Some very lovely ladies there.

I am so sad to say I meant to tape the Globes and then this feeble brain forgot and we went out to dinner and the next thing you know, it’s midnight and I’m all, “OMG, the Golden Globes!”

I’ll catch up online one of these days.

I do have to disagree on Angelina, though. I think she looked like an ice queen and not a nice one, which I have a feeling is pretty much, what she’s like in real life, no matter how many children she saves around the world.

I did however, see Madonna’s acceptance speech because I wanted to see why Elton was so furious with her and I have to agree with Elton’s husband, her speech was incredibly narcissistic, awkwardly so. That woman is a mediocre talent with a giant ego. I’m siding with Elton on this.

Great coverage, my friend. Thanks for all the pictures.

Gorgeous, all… I love that Helen Mirren is so stunning, still. I remember the Oscars a few years ago, when IMO she was the most beautiful woman there, of any age.

And George, oh, George… WTF, he keeps looking hotter and hotter.

Kim, I did not watch the awards show, I’m afraid. However, thanks to this post I at least got to see what some of these lovely women look like. Sophia Vergara is stunning! She looks like a real life mermaid! Helen Mirren, OMG, I want to look just like her when I grow up and Nicole Kidman just embodies elegance and class! Angelina’s dress is a show stopper but really, can someone please feed this woman a cheeseburger? She looks like a starved chihuahua! hee hee! George Clooney, I can’t stand, but have to admit he looks quite debonair in his Armani tux. I say Armani cause that’s what all the men wear!
