Glorious Green

“Green is the prime color of the world, and that from which its loveliness arises.” — Pedro Calderon de la Barca

St. Patrick's Day Ice Cream Jello
~Mix together to dissolve:
2 large packages (6 oz each) of green Jello (or any flavor)

~1 packet of unflavored gelatin
4 cups boiling water

1 quart vanilla ice cream (I would use less ice cream next time)
Stir til dissolved

9 x 13 glass dish

Green flower

~Refrigerate overnight, cut and serve! The ice cream will float to the top of the jello.

when I was a child, green lollipops were my very favorite. I loved them so much that I’d even eat the paper stick trying to suck the last bit of lime green flavor.

Now, lime drinks are my favorite — margaritas, daiqueries, limeade. Just the smell of a lime is enough to send me to Puerto Rico in memory.

Green has always been my favorite color as well. Bill would sometimes comment on my green wardrobe. I look good in green though I’ve since added more color to my closet.

And all those glorious shades of green we see on our hillsides. The black green of the spruce, the bright green diversity of the foliage, the gold-green of wet aspen trunks. The greens of the landscape reflected in water.

Not a fan of green, except on trees and grass of course…….And that green margarita looked pretty dang good. The little black kitty with the green eyes was precious, too.
I do love it when you write about color, though. You put everything together so nicely. You have a knack for blending. You’re just talented is what you are!

So, you just refrigerate the mixture and not freeze it? I’m guessing that the ice cream turns into something like “fluff” on top? It looks great. I love green !

Forget the green dress – check out those arm bands!! Wonder if they hold in the flab?? Bwahahahahaa. I can give you another reason to love green… my eyes. Especially when I enhance the greeness with my emerald green contact lenses. Of course I’ve learned they sort of make the world a bit… greeny shaded. But hey, at least my eyes look good even if I can’t really see clearly!

Green was my favorite color as a child. I especially loved mint green (a light dusty green color) it was big in the ’80s.

Kim, what a fun post! Green is not one of my favorite colors but I do like the tranquility it inspires. It also reminds me of new beginnings since it’s ever present in spring. It’s funny cause while I’m not a green fan, my mom absolutely loves it. She says it matches her eyes, which it doesn’t since her eyes are blue, but she’s said that since I was little. And green reminds me of “Green eggs and ham!” 🙂
