Coffee, red wine, milk chocolate with pecans and chili peppers. I can read The Secret Life of Bees over and over again. Yoga, it unravels my kinks. Laughter from children, support of a man, and flying in my dreams.

I love this post. Thanks for informing me about the dark chocolate with sea salt. I am addicted to both chocolate and salt- in moderation of course. And yes, one can never have too many pairs of black shoes. I have a friend who has the identical shoes in black and brown. One day she wore one of each to work and no one noticed. She stopped by my house after work and we laughed until we cried. She should have just stuck with the black! I love books of all kinds but I really liked “Mennonite in a Little Black Dress” by Rhoda Janzen and just finished a favorite- ” The Forgotten Garden” by Kate Morton. I think you would like both. Every Christmas, I watch “Love Actually” at least once. I love that movie. I wish I were a lipstick person. My mother loved lipstick and even into her 90s wanted to wear it when someone came to visit. It was important to her to look good. When she died last November, I asked the funeral home to put lipstick on her so she would look good in her coffin. And she did!!! It was so her.

Have you ever heard Neil Diamond’s album of Jonathan Livingston Seagull? It’s about my most favorite album! My English teacher in high school knew I liked that album (how I don’t remember) and gave me her book. I still have it.

Lindt chocolate! Where do we begin with that!? OMG, happiness!

Can’t go wrong with a good chocolate chip cookie……oh….made with Lindt chocolate!!!!

We have lots in common! I’m going to look into that book, “Ariel”. I like a great poem!

    Great post Kim!!

You know what? I buy Jonathan L. Seagall every time I see the book! I have several copies (just for the hell of it) I like giving them away & just looking at them on my book shelf! yeah, a bit of an obsession.
Try Lindt Chocolate. You will simply flip out! 🙂 xxxxx

Kim! Black shoes….one can never have enough black shoes, they are so versatile! If you love Jonathan Livingston Seagull then you must read some of Richard Bach’s other stuff. He is absolutely my favorite author of all time. My favorite book of his is “Illusions”. It is a short quick read but packed with symbolism and for me gives a lift to my soul. As a matter of fact I think I will read it again this evening.

My biggest addiction is hands down… wine!

Oh Kim, I’m right there with you with the Dark Chocolate and Sea Salt. I only discovered it about 6 months ago and I could just eat it all day long…. right next to my chocolate chip cookies, while wearing my black shoes and watching the Family Stone, which is an awesome movie.

I am ADDICTED to looking for “treasures”!!! Sound crazy? YUP it is. I cannot walk a foot without scanning the ground for a great find!!!! (Rocks, Drift Wood, Weird shaped branches etc…) My Lobster (husband) thought he would feed my addiction by getting me a metal detector. I felt HORRIBLE when I would find a ring or bracelet and know that somebody LOST it! I would go to the ENDS of the earth to find the owner. But then I ended up doing what the Natives do, it’s great to give away the stuff your done with but do you know how WONDERFUL it is to give away something that you LOVE???? PRICELESS! All of my treasures are given to a new home if I can’t find the rightful owner!!! Makes their day and keeps me out of the LoOny bin!! LOL,

PS: Now the rule is if I pick something up and it’s not a “treasure” and ends up being garbage, I can’t put it back down I have to keep it and throw it away. Lobster thinks this will break me of this curious addiction. It just means the world is a cleaner place.

PSS: Because I am a LITtLE obsessive, I am only allowed one pretty thing (rock, drift wood, etc.) per trip. I would come home like a little kid with my pockets BULGING with “pretty rocks” and if I didn’t have pockets I would put them in my bra!!! Thank GOD for an understanding Lobster!!! :o)

    LOVE LOVE LOVE you KIM!!!!

Kim, you have some healthy addictions. The dark chocolate with sea salt is a killer.. I wish I had never discovered it to be honest because I go weak at the knees, drool, and am prone to crazy behavior. I am a cosmetic junky myself, so my addiction does not stop at lipstick. I like your reading choices, I discovered Plath later in life so her impact on me was less so, I was more a Edna St. Vincent Milay girl myself. What I enjoy about visiting you here is that you always make me smile, ponder, or got seek out that story. BTW, I made your carmel frosting this past weekend for my kids – they loved it, and it has been officially named ‘Kim’s frosting. Also, your cookie recipes are to die for, woman. xoxox brenda

Lisa Wingate’s Texas trilogy – Texas Cooking, Lonestar Cafe and Over the Moon at the Big Lizard Diner – clean amazing reads – romantic, real and keep you coming back to re-read over and again! She is about characters and love, not a gynecological step-by-step sex manual.

Godiva Godiva Godiva chocolates. Yankee Candle McIntosh candles. Aaron Neville. Ladyhawke and The Princess Bride (#1 fave) movies. Voss water (love the reusable bottles). Noa and Ma Griffe colognes. My mom’s killer brownies and in the summer she made a yum marshmallow refrigerator pie.

My copper pots and pans. Little black tresses and great fitting pairs or black slacks.
